Hello one and all,
I’m pausing The Creative Flock for April so I can take a break and recharge my batteries. The school holidays start tomorrow for two weeks and I want to make the most of what is usually a low-pressure school break, (compared to the ones around Christmas, Halloween and summer) as it comes with very few expectations, aside from making sure we have plenty of chocolate eggs and hot-cross buns in the cupboard to keep us going.
I plan to enjoy some family time, go on long walks, work in my nature journal and generally slow things down a notch. I’ve been suffering with burn-out and recurring illness the past two months and I thought it best to listen to what my body is telling me and take some proper rest.
I explain a bit more in this video:
In between family time and resting, I’m attending the FCBG children’s book conference which I go to most years. It’s where I catch up with other volunteers from the charity, see what’s new in the publishing world and generally geek out with fellow children’s book enthusiasts. The speaker list is looking fab this year and I’m especially excited to meet two of my favourite authors, Michael Morpurgo and David Almond for the first time. I’m anticipating to go into full ‘Star Struck’ mode. 😆
I have another business I run part-time and this helps financially support my creative work and what I do here in The Creative Flock, I’ll still be working on this to keep things ticking over.
I’ll be posting my ‘March Round-up’ and then I’ll check in toward the end of April to announce what’s coming up for May. I've got a lovely collaboration planned which I’m excited about and look forward to sharing with you.
Billing, what you can access and upgrade options:
Even though billing will be paused from 1st-30th April, paid members can still access everything in The Creative Flock archive and free members can access the free post archive.
For paid members, I have half a dozen replays of our live drawing sessions, x2 art challenges and lots of written and video posts in the archive so there’s lots to catch up on.
If you would like to upgrade, you have until 31st March before I pause billing and this will give you access to the whole archive, plus all the new content in May and not be charged again until the end of May if you decide to continue your subscription.
More details about member benefits are in this welcome post:
Art class recommendations for April:

Wish you a relaxed a peaceful break Emma and hope you may feel fully recharged afterwards 💛
