Hello!

This is the second post of the month where I share new work created for Folktale Week 2024. This one features a more detailed look at the process involved in the final painting, including a time-lapse of the final artwork and commentary during the painting process.

As this is a longer video than the previous one (just over 1 hour), I’ve provided time-stamps so you can skip straight to the part you’re most interested in.

At the end of the post are links to the materials used, plus things I mention in the video.

Folktale Week (prompt 2) - GATE//Barn Owl. Painted using Deep Deep Light watercolours

This new piece is based on the word prompt GATE and features a Barn Owl.

Since creating the first piece, I decided to write an acrostic poem for each one. I talk more about this in the video.
