REPLAY: 'Hedgerow Habitats' Drawing Session
Catch up with this month's session, where we sketched the varied wildlife and rich habitat of hedgerows
Hello!
If you’re new here, a very warm welcome to you. I’m Emma, an artist and illustrator, based in rural England and my work is influenced by wildlife, stories and those small but significant, moments of connection with nature.
The Creative Flock is a cosy space where I share my creative journey and a peek behind the scenes of my life. I’m here to offer encouragement, advice and inspiration as you explore your own creative path.
Thank you to the Creative Flock members who were able to make it to the live, if you’re catching this on the replay, I hope you enjoy this soothing drawing session featuring the beauty and richness of hedgerows, their sculptural quality, and sketching some of the many creatures that make hedgerows their home and hideaway.
Here’s a short video I made about why I wanted to dedicate a whole month to exploring hedgerows:
For the session, I used a mixture of unison pastels, Derwent and Caran d’Ache pencils, in a Pith Oroblanco sketchbook. I continued with some of the sketches after the session.
