NEW DATE! Shadow Drawing workshop
Using the power of light and natural shapes we'll be 'drawing' with shadows. Wednesday 9th July, 7pm (BST)
Huge apologies to those who tried to access yesterdays workshop!
My wifi kept dropping out and I quickly realised it just wasn’t going to be possible to sucessfully run the session! 🫣
BUT, I’m pleased to say I’ve rescheduled the workshop for next week, Wednesday 9th July, 7pm BST. I hope you are able to make it!
I had prepped all my materials for the session and didn’t want to waste the opportunity to draw, so here are some of the sketches I did while I was quietly seething about my crappy internet, plus some I did as prep before the session:

If you’re new here, or it’s the first post you’ve read in a while, here’s a little reminder that the rhythm of the Creative Flock has shifted to a slower pace, and in June I introduced ‘Creative Seasons’ - a slower, more intentional way to explore our creativity in line with the energy and natural rhythm of the seasons.
Every 3 months, starting from June, we dive into a topic which is inspired by the season we’re in. In Summer 2025, our theme is Wild & Wandering, a creative season inspired by the outdoors. To find out more, please check out this post:
In June, we gathered ideas around the theme Wild & Wandering. This month, we're shifting into Explore, a chance to play, experiment and try out new ways of approaching our creative practice.
About the workshop:
Our live session this month is a hands-on workshop where I’ll guide you through drawing with shadows. Using light and the simple outline shapes of natural objects, we’ll let shadows lead our pencils. This exercise invites us to see our subject matter in a new ‘light’, opening up space for reflection, enqury, and a fresh perspective on the act of drawing itself.
Date and Time: Wednesday 9th July 7-8pm BST
