Such a joyful question! As a child it was mini soaps or bath pearls (upsettingly, they all dissolved into a heaving mess but I still have one pale green flower soap the size of my thumbnail, kept in my sewing box where a variety of highly random objects are to be found). I've always been fascinated by found objects that have little value (I still own a fluro yellow plastic panda charm found at a theme park when little).
Now, it's often bits of nature (no change from the nests and shells of childhood)... my family laugh at my ever growing collection of 'lovely sticks'.
A question for those here: did you use or keep stickers?
Thank you for your comment Elaine! I'm glad my question brought back joyful memories for you 😊
Those bath pearls looked so tempting in the shop didn't they, but impossible things to collect as one speck of water turned them to gunk! Didn't stop me pestering my mum for more though. Oh yes, I remember collecting soaps too! The ones wrapped in paper tended to fair better. I'm impressed you still have one from your collection! ❤️
I'm fortunate that my son loves collecting sticks even more than I do, so my husband is outnumbered when he tries to protest!
I have so many collections! Right now my biggest ones are: old books, rocks and sea shells, vintage photos and postcards, vintage jars (really vintage anything), and ofcourse, art supplies.
Thank you for sharing Moriah, so exciting to hear about your collections! I love an old jar too, there's a spot near me which used to be a rubbish site but was converted into a nature reserve. The badgers often dig up bits of 'treasure' and occasionally the pieces are in good condition! Perfect for pencil pots.
I never liked the Troll dolls, they had dead eyes. 😐 I did like their scented hair though!
I like decluttering, so the only collections I have are comic books: Tintin, Asterix, and Calvin & Hobbes mostly. If I join the call, they won't be easy to draw... 😅
Thanks for sharing Robyn! Funnily enough, when I looked online for a photo of the Fishing Troll, I wondered why I liked them so much as you're right, the eyes are dead and creepy! 😆
What a fantastic book collection! We love those comics too and my son has recently started to read my husbands old copies of Asterix and Calvin & Hobbes. Don't worry, I'll provide some reference images if you don't have anything of your own to draw from.
What a brilliant collection Raj! I love that you stored it safely away in a locked box 😊 a shame we didn’t keep hold of these things, would have been such a great time capsule!
I know right?!! I gave them away to my niece, who at the time was star struck by them and I figured she'd be a good caretaker. She's 20 now, and I'm sure they are forgotten somewhere! Part of the deal of giving them away so I guess that's fine!
Yesss!! The McDonald’s Happy Meal toys! Wow, that brings back memories, my family would get annoyed at me for lining up all the toys on the living room carpet to marvel at 😆

In answer to your question Elaine, I had many sticker albums, usually Disney movie themed or possibly Garfield as I loved the comic and TV show.

I used to have an 'eraser' collection, stored in a little metal box with a key. I wish I'd kept it going! Was fun to have the little novelty objects!

I hope she did keep them! I'd like to think that she did and she might pass on to her own children some day!
I loved troll dolls! I collected McDonald's Happy Meal toys and Barbies.
Nowadays I seem to collect elderly, snoring rescue pets and *gasp* art supplies. 🫦
For a moment I thought ‘elderly, snoring rescue pets’ was a was a sort of collectible toy! 😆
